Core Services
At Roots to Resilience SEL, we offer individualized, one-on-one social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions designed to help children and youth develop the emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills they need to thrive in school, relationships, and everyday life. Our services are rooted in the CASEL framework and tailored to each learner’s unique goals, developmental level, and strengths.
Personalized SEL Coaching
Our core offering is customized, in-home SEL lessons for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade—and for older individuals with child-like social-emotional needs.
Each session is grounded in the CASEL competencies and may include:
-
Self-awareness and emotional identification
-
Coping strategies and stress management
-
Social skills and peer interaction
-
Conflict resolution and communication
-
Goal-setting and responsible decision-making
-
Building empathy, compassion, and confidence
Sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate, using games, movement, visuals, discussion, and reflection activities from research based programs like CASEL, or Zones of Regulation, tailored to each child’s learning style.
Transition & Life Skills Support
We offer focused support for children and youth navigating transitions, including:
-
Starting a new school or grade level
-
Adjusting to family changes (e.g., divorce, relocation, new siblings)
-
Preparing for social challenges or changes in routine
-
Building adaptive skills to increase independence
Our goal is to help students feel emotionally safe, confident, and prepared during times of change.

Collaboration with Families & Professionals
We prioritize team-based collaboration by working alongside parents, therapists, teachers, and other providers. With proper consent, we align our work with:
-
Existing therapy or IEP goals
-
Behavioral strategies or classroom plans
-
Parent concerns and home routines
This ensures consistency across environments and creates a unified support system for the child.

Preventative & Enrichment SEL
Not all children need intervention—some benefit from ongoing skill-building and enrichment. For children who are doing well but could use additional support with confidence, social dynamics, or emotional growth, we offer:
-
Proactive SEL sessions to prevent future challenges
-
Enrichment-based coaching to extend learning
-
Opportunities for reflection and personal growth
This is especially valuable for families who believe in the long-term benefits of emotional intelligence and social readiness.
